What is a Digital Product Passport (DPP)?
As environmental resources become increasingly constrained, the world is moving toward a circular economy. Through green product design, sustainable production, sustainable consumption, and resource circulation, Digital Product Passports disclose product information such as design, materials, manufacturing processes, and carbon footprint to support reuse, repair, and more effective recycling.

Project Timeline
- In March 2022, Taiwan announced the 2050 Net-Zero Emissions Pathway and Strategies. The Resource Circulation Administration, MOENV leads Strategy 8, Resource Circulation and Zero Waste, and includes Digital Product Passports as one of the key initiatives.
- Since 2023, Taiwan has launched Digital Product Passport pilot work, selected priority product categories, built the DPP system, planned operating rules, explored cross-agency collaboration, and invited stakeholders including brands, manufacturers, repairers, and recyclers to participate.
- In 2024, mobile phones and tablets were added to the pilot product categories.
